This course builds upon the knowledge and skills taught in the PADI Open Water rebreather diver course but now qualifies divers to dive to depths of 30 meters/100 feet with either a closed circuit rebreather diver or open circuit buddy.
Knowledge development takes place through independent study with the PADI Advanced Rebreather diver manual (already part of the PADI Open Water Rebreather diver manual) and Instructor led prescriptive teaching, practical sessions in unit assembly and dive checks and the course includes 5 training dives with a minimum time on the unit of 240 minutes and additional in-water skills that cover breathing from another rebreather divers alternate air source, deploying a submersible marker buoy, rigging and carrying an additional off-board bail out tank, switching to both on-board and off-board bail out, and deeper dive planning on a closed circuit rebreather.
The PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver course goals are:
- Explain the need for and demonstrate the use of additional equipment required for diving deeper than 18 metres/60 feet.
- Plan and make dives using a Type R rebreather as deep as 30 metres/100 feet, or to 40 metres/130 feet if also certified as PADI Deep Divers.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to problems and emergencies that occur deeper than 18 metres/60 feet.
Course Time: 2 days
Prerequisites: +18 years old, PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Enriched Air diver, PADI Open Water rebreather diver, 30 logged dives
Postrequisite: Be certified as an PADI Advanced diver prior to certification (training dive 3 of the PADI Advanced rebreather course can credit as Adventure Deep dive if knowledge development requirements are met)
For all recreational reservations we request a $200 dollar deposit + 6% Paypal fee = $212 (for professional training please contact us for reservations). This partial payment will ensure your accommodation (in a dorm at the Mango Inn), materials and course will be reserved for you when you arrive.
PayPal is one option for paying for your deposit or your entire bill online. For Hondurans, another is to make a deposit at a local Credomatic or Banco Atlantida bank branch within Honduras.
Either way you can pay for your course costs, accommodation and deposit using one of these methods prior to your visit to Utila. Please bear in mind there is an 4% surcharge on credit cards in Honduras.
